What Did We Do?

Lola was looking to refresh a website we built for her back in 2022. She wanted it to better match her cabin/salon in terms of colour and styling.

She also wanted everything combined into a single page, rather than the multiple-page website she had previously, which she didn’t feel was working for her anymore.

She was also looking to save money, so we moved her domain and hosting to a cheaper platform.

Lola hadn’t liked the amount of white on her previous website, so we used an image of her cabin as the main focal point of the website. This image ended up playing a pivotal role in the overall branding of the website.

The Neon Signage

Lola asked if we could use the Neon Sign as the title for her website. Whilst we weren’t able to use the actual sign, we did find a similar font that we used with a Neon Effect that we placed at various locations around the website:

  • Website Title
  • The Treatment Menu
  • Some Titles
  • The Scroll Up functionality button

This helped to add a bit of personality to the website, and was a lovely pop of colour.

Deep Sea Green

Our goal was to take colours from those that featured heavily in Lola’s cabin to create the main colours featured on her new website. Her green chair was such a dominant feature of the room, that it seemed crazy not to utilise its stunning colour.

The green we chose was a gorgeous Deep Sea Green, which we used for the header and menus, alongside many of the Treatment Titles and the Scroll Up Functionality button.

The vibrant green created a gorgeous backdrop for the neon pink title.

Amour Blush

As we were trying to avoid having too much white space on the page; we needed a second colour for the background that appeared behind the Treatment section. Lola had mentioned not wanting too much pink and that her walls featured purple. However, we didn’t feel that the purple would have worked well against the green.

The problem was that the Deep Sea Green is such a vibrant colour, that we didn’t want the two to be fighting for attention and looking chaotic. Instead, we opted for the muted Amour Blush, which mirrored the colour of her second chair.

The soft and pale pink shade nicely complemented the richness of the green, without taking anything away from it.

Making Treatments Easy

Keeping all of the content together, created a very long page and we wanted to make sure that it was easy for customers to find what they were looking for and to move around quickly and efficiently. We achieved this by creating three features:

  1. We utilised an Accordion functionality, that allowed us to list each Treatment, without all of the information relating to each one needing to be visible at all times. This allowed customers to only see the content that they are interested in, without bombarding them.
  2. Once we had the list, we wanted to make it as easy as possible for customers to find each type of treatment they were looking for, so we added a menu at the top of the section, allowing them to view the services they were interested in.
  3. We added the Scroll Up Functionality to ensure visitors could get back to the top of the website without having to scroll for ages, which had the potential to annoy.
